Although both regions are renowned for their biodiversity, their landscapes create very different wildlife encounters. The Amazon surrounds you with dense rainforest, while the Pantanal opens into vast wetlands and grasslands.
In Brazil’s southern Amazon, around Alta Floresta, the rainforest offers a remarkable diversity of wildlife.

Along the waterways, giant river otters offer another unforgettable encounter. Caimans are equally difficult to miss, often gathering along the riverbanks in large numbers. And among all these species, one predator stands apart.
The waterways around Porto Jofre provide exceptional opportunities to observe jaguars in the wild. Here, the animals often move along riverbanks and near the water, making boat safaris an ideal way to encounter them.
